Vault Hunting 101: A Guide to RNG and LOOT! (Part 2) Welcome back to our ramble through the whimsical - and occasionally capricious - world of the Borderlands loot system. As was the case for part 1 this guide is not wholly original, but will attempt to cover the key points in a clear and mostly non-mathematical manner for the math-averse. Drop Rate 1 in 20 chance (5%) chance (NOT FOR DOC MERCY ON PS3).

World Drops are items that drop from any suitable Loot Source in addition to their other sources.

Fight for Sanctuary World Drops are items that drop from any suitable Loot Source, within the DLC, in addition to their other sources.

Suitable Loot Sources:

• Most Enemies:
  Bosses, badass or non-badass enemies, ...
• Red Chests, lockers, garbage containers, cardboard boxes, garbage/skag/... piles
• Slot Machines

• All Enemies:
  Bosses, Crew Challenges, Generic Enemies, ...
• All kinds of Chests
• Vending Machines
• Slot Machines
• Eridian Fabricator‍

• All Enemies:
  Bosses, Crew Challenges, Generic Enemies, ...
• All kinds of Chests

Datamined items are not obtainable with legitimate methods.
They can only be obtained using bugs or the Cheat Engine on the PC.

Quest Reward Items in Borderlands 2 can be farmed on PC by Read-Only farming.

How to Read-Only farm:

1. Go to the location where you hand in the quest.
2. Save the game by toggling your Badass Rank on/off.
3. Then go into the file explorer on your computer. Go to the file path:
   C:UsersNAMEDocumentsMy GamesBorderlands 2WillowGameSaveData
4. Go to your most recent Save File (.sav) and:
   right-click → properties
5. Under General tick the Read-only box.
6. Back in-game and hand in the quest.
7. Exit to the main menu, then back into the game.
8. Now you will be able to hand in the quest again.

Tip: Store the items in Claptrap's Secret Stash.
This way you can get the quest reward items multiple times since they are saved on a different SaveFile.

In Borderlands 3 Quest Reward Items are rewarded after or during a quest. After the quest is completed there are 2 ways to farm base game items:

DLC quest items can't be farmed by these methods.

Dedicated drops are items that can only be farmed at one or rarely more sources that have the item assigned to them.

External Source items are mailed to you for activities or purchases outside of the game.

Torgue Vending Machines can be found throughout the 'Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage' DLC.
All gear can be purchased using Torgue Tokens which can be obtained throughout the campaign.

Legendary Gear may appear as 'Item of the Day'.
If the desired item is not for sale reload and try again.

Cheat Engine Borderlands 2 Table

To edit the Guardian stuff open the Guardian Rank screen after enabling the scripts.
- Highlighted Skill Level (Must reload save for changes to take effect)
- Vending Machine Timer
- Guardian Rank (Level, EXP and Tokens)
- Guardian Stat Levels (They seem to have hard capped them at 15.0%, around 120 levels)
- Unlimited Bag Slots

NOTE: this is not permanent, but the game does not delete items if you are over the normal cap when loading back into your game.

Side note: If picking up a new currency (eg. eridium for the first time), the money pointer will point to that instead of the normal cash. I suspect it will point to whatever currency you pick up at any given time.

Here's how you use it. Numpad+ will turn the script on and off. You turn it on, roll slots, then turn it off while slots are rolling but before they finish. This is really just scripting the unrandomizer feature.
Here's a list of values you can use for the different slots. They're not complete, but it's good enough for what I personally use.
Oh, I should probably mention, you might have to enable then disable the unrandomizer when you first launch the game for it to work correctly.

Notes:
The game spawns two borderlands3.exe processes. Select the other one if the table doesn't work on first as shown in the video here
Alternatively, you can just select the game from window list.
